SUMMARY:  Plan, directs, and administers company's quality-assurance programs, including the establishment, implementation and maintenance of company QS policies, monitoring programs, gathering statistical data, and  evaluating in-house programs.
* Perform internal and external audits to assure that Atkins Nutritionals, Inc. (ANI) products, ANI facilities, distribution centers and  co-manufacturers comply with all applicable Federal, State and local regulations.
Responsible for participating in qualifying co-manufacturers to produce new products, testing and tracking products through the ANI supply chain.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    *Maintain strong working relationship with co-packers and suppliers through monthly meetings and periodic visits.
    * Manage the Q.A. Hold and Release program to include all microbiological testing and NLEA.
    * Responsible for content within the Quality Systems (QS) ManagementPortal. Work with the QA Technical Services Coordinator on designing the Product Technology department's technological needs. This includes using MS InfoPath and MS Front-page program to design customized forms and portals for departmental use.
    * Perform and manage QS audits of the contract manufacturing sites, distribution centers and third party contractors to ensure that manufactures and contractors comply with the up-to-date GMP regulations and standards (Food Safety, Bioterrorism/ Food Security).
    * Develop reviews and approve Standard Operating Procedures and Master Records for A.N.I.
    * Review all data obtained during all quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
    * Assist Product Development Team with new and current products and revisions.
    * Define and maintain processes which manage the Global Partners & Suppliers Audit, including scheduling, conduct, report review/edit/approval, audit frequency, manning requirements, and lead auditor development.
     * Assist Global Partners & Suppliers with questions, and trouble shooting issues by visiting sites requesting assistance, consulting with appropriate management, and performing on-site consulting assessments. 
    * Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
    * Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team.
    * Liaison for International business, providing support for warehousing, product shipment  testing and product libraries.
    * Manage ANI contracted Call Center relationship.  Measure monthly contacts against production and consumption volumes, monitoring situations and reporting as needed.
    * Responsible for handling any legal claims as it pertains to ANI products with the exception of those related to the Consumer Complaint department.
Required education, training and/or experience:  This position requires a Bachelors degree with a minimum of 5 years of professional work experience.
Required Skills: Knowledge of Quality Systems as it relates to food safety and consumer acceptance (GMP's HACCP, Sanitation, Pest Control, Recall, Microbiology, Thermal Processing, Allergen Controls, QMS, and Calibration Programs.

and quality assurance strategies for food manufacturing, including food
security. The Rutgers Food Innovation Center (FIC) is a unique business
incubation and economic development accelerator program that provides
business and technology expertise to small and mid-sized food and
agribusinesses in New Jersey, and utilizes its outreach capacity to
reach the food industry throughout the nation. Business and technology
expertise has been provided to over 700 clients to date, including
farmers and cooperatives, startup food companies, existing small and
mid-sized food establishments, and retail and foodservice markets that
seek to purchase locally supplied NJ products.
Requirements:  Requires a bachelor's degree in food science, chemistry,
biological sciences, or similarly related field. Requires an
understanding of food safety principles including Good Manufacturing
Processes, Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures, and Hazard
Analysis and Critical Control Point procedures. Experience with quality
assurance, technical services, and product development in the food
industry is desired. Requires demonstrated ability to develop
strategies and manage multiple projects, excellent communication
skills, comfort in a training role, capability to correct individuals
in a positive way, ability to work in a team environment, and the
ability to work in confidence with the individual needs of clients.
Also requires computer literacy in Excel and Word, and ability to
assess data and generate technical reports as required.

business plans, analyzing pricing, marketing, financing, distribution,
and commercialization of specialty food products. Requires thorough
familiarity with and capability of developing a comprehensive business
plan and feasibility analysis for clients and familiarity with
specialty food marketing and distribution systems. Also requires
excellent oral and written communication skills, a proven work record
of increasing levels of responsibility, ability to multitask in a
fast-paced environment, and excelling as a team player. Business savvy

Job Requirements:
BS Degree in food technology, mechanical, chemical, or industrial
engineering (other science/engineering degrees will be considered) or
combination of education & experience considered equivalent of a BS
5+ years experience in food product development or food manufacturing
with emphasis on understanding how physics and chemistry principles are
applied to product design and manufacturing is a must.
5+ years in R & D of cereal/grain based processing
